In the past couple of years, there have been some incredible innovations in sex toys. One of the companies that is ahead of the game is German Fun Factory. They are known for their super powerful motors and great designs when it comes to sex toys for people with a vagina, like the Stronic Drei that can pulsate, or the Tiger G5. With their Manta they have made a model for people with a penis and for couples. The design is so completely different that I had wanted to test it since the first time I heard about it. That’s why I nagged like a baby at EasyToys, untill they decided to send me one. Boy, am I glad I was that pushy, because this is a great toy!

What is a Fun Factory Manta?

The Fun Factory Manta is advertised as a ‘stroker’. This could mean that it is some kind of ‘jerk-off machine’, but that would do it short. Because, – yes – you can use the Manta solo to stimulate the penis, but you can also use it together with your partner!

Many seks toys for people with a penis are build like some kind of cylinder that contains a fake pussy / mouth / ass. That type of masturbators are often quite big, difficult to handle, loud and a little clunky. Also, these type of toys generally are not very inviting to use together with a partner. Fun Factory now managed to create a penis toy that looks rather like a vibrator. This makes it easy to use and it looks less intimidating.

The Manta is like a normal vibrator, but with a C-shaped end on top. The material is very flexible. The wings fit around the penis in more than one way. Also, the C is structured to make it more stimulating, but also to hold the lube better. Fun Factory advices to use water based lube (not included).

Just like all other Fun Factory toys, the Manta uses their ‘click ’n’ charge’ magnetic charging system. The Manta is made of high quality silicone. It is 100% waterproof, 18 centimeter long and 3 centimeter in girth.

The Manta has a constant vibration with 6 intensity levels and 6 different vibration patterns. Furthermore, the Manta comes with a ‘travel lock’, so it won’t just start running while it sits in your luggage.

Mine was army green, but it is also available in navy blue (depending if you are more an army or a navy kind of guy).

Unboxing

The Fun Factory Mantacomes in a golden box that looks super well. It is a gift and an experience to unpack it. There is even a little drawing on the box that tells you how to unbox it. Deutsche gründlichkeit? I love it.

When you open the box, you immediately see the user manual (“RTFM in your face, dude!”). The print is very small, but fortunately it contains clear pictograms. Further more there is a small warning booklet that tells you in different languages that this is no kids toy. And it reminds you that you should not stick this in your anus. Like we were planning to do that, but thanks anyway, lawyers of Fun Factory.

The USB-charging cable is wonderful thick and of the kind that doesn’t easily entangles. I am already impressed. Charging the Manta is easy. Just click the magnetic cable to the two pins on the device. The magnet is very strong, so it will stay put like it should. A clever system lets you know how far it is charged; If only the ‘-‘ lights up, it is charged for less than one third. If both ‘+’ and ‘-‘ burn, it is charged for two third. And if also the logo lights up, it is fully charged. The first time that could take up 6 to 8 hours (although mine didn’t take that long).

The ‘test drive’

The Fun Factory Manta is easy to handle. The buttons are easy to find. When you turn on the Manta, it starts with a constant vibration. With the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons, you can change the intensity. Fun Factory carefully thought about the operation. When the Manta is in the highest intensity, and you press ‘+’, you will switch to the first pattern. But if you are in these patterns and keep pressing ‘+’ you will only switch between patterns. To get back to the constant vibration, you have to press the ‘-‘. I think that is very smart.

Solo use

The Manta is very versatile for solo use. When you – just like me – have a penis, it gives you hours of pleasure. The C-shaped wings fit easy around any size of penis, but they are still firm enough for a good grip. The vibrations concentrate at the top, where the magic is supposed to happen.

With a little water based lube you can easily run the Manta up and down the shaft of your penis. Fun Factory says that the ridges help hold the lube. That is particularly true for the gap at the bottom of the C-shape. It seems to work like some kind of reservoir.

You can also wrap the wings around the head of the penis, or let the vibrations focus on your frenulum. When you hold the Manta all the way down, you can also feel the strong vibrations through your penis and in your scrotum. The vibrations are quite strong, deep and intense. FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC!

Normally I am not a big fan of vibration patterns, but for one reason or another the patterns of the Manta seem to fit in my masturbation habbits perfectly in speed and variation.

Because the Manta is not a ‘fake pussy’, it is also great to use it together. Your partner can tease you by running the wings around your shaft in all kinds of ways. Or any other part of your body for that matter (like nipples). And while you are at it, try using the vibrations of the wings for her enjoyment. Hold the wings to her nipples, labia or clitoris. This is such a versatile toy!

Deep Throat

According to Fun Factory you can also use the Manta during a blow job. The persons that gives head can hold the Manta at the base of the shaft. That would mimic the feeling of a deep throat. While I dare to doubt that, it stills damned good when your partner uses the mouth and tongue on the top while the Manta vibrates at the base and balls. Besides – and not unimportant – the vibrations were not unpleasant for my partner. At least, as long as she didn’t accidentally touched the wings with her chin. Also, it is perhaps a good idea to use lube that is flavorless, or you should use no lube at all (but then you have to minimize the movement of the Manta).

Couples use

Because the vibrations resonate well in the penis, the Manta can turn your penis into a vibrator. Many other toys make that promise, but the Manta actually can deliver! When I hold the C-shaped wings around the base, while I penetrate my partner, (depending on the position) she felt the vibrations really good.

This worked best in positions where she was on top. When she straddled me I could hold and operate the Mantra. When she tilted forward, she could feel the vibrations even more direct. In reversed cowgirl (with her back towards me) it was more handy when she operated the device. But even in doggy style or while spooning, it worked quite good.

Cleaning

Because the Manta is fully waterproof, you can just wash it under running water. You can use some mild disinfecting soap if you wish. Very easy.

Conclusion

This is one of the most versatile toys I have tested in a long time. What a great device! The vibrations are deep and you can place it where you like it best. When I found my spot (in solo use) it took me very little effort to reach orgasm. But it is also one of the few penis toys that is actually great for couples use.

Really, I can recommend this toy to everyone with a penis. Yes, this is not the cheapest toy, but you may assume it will give you years of pleasure! The Fun Factory Manta is definitely in my top 3 of all time favorites!
