In bondage, a hogtie refers to tying the submissive person in a position where the ankles and wrists are tied together behind the back using rope or restraints. A hogtie is very simple to apply, but at the same time extremely effective in minimizing a person’s freedom of movement. The cuff set for hands and feet from You2Toys is a cheap starter set for people who want to start with bondage. But is it any good?

What is the cuff set with wrist and ankle cuffs from You2Toys?

This cuff set of You2Toys consists of two wrist cuffs and two ankle cuffs that are attached to each other with a sort of H-connection. The wrist cuffs are about 10 cm apart and the ankle cuffs about 20 cm. The long connection between the wrist and ankle cuffs is up to 80 cm. You can adjust these with a sliding buckle.

Both the wrist and ankle cuffs are lined with a soft red lining and close with Velcro. The set is made of 100% polyamide.

Unboxing the cuff set

From a set of this price, you may not expect much. And certainly not the packaging. It is very ‘basic’. Maybe even a little cheap, but to the point. It only contains a drawing and the text ‘Hand und Fussfesseln für hingebungsvolle sex spielereien‘ (hand and ankle cuffs for dedicated sex games).

Inside the box is a plastic bag that contains the cuff set. Furthermore, there is a bill with some general conditions (typically German, I think). In the general terms and conditions You2Toys calls for recycling the packaging, but as far as I’m concerned they could have done something about environmentally friendly materials themselves.

Had it been a few euros more expensive, they could have included a storage pouch for example.

Taking the cuff set for a test drive

My partner (wife) and I (husband) do like a little bondage every now and then. We have several sets of cuffs. As a result, it is almost inevitable to compare these cuffs to others we use from time to time.

First, the material. Polyamide is a strong and durable material It is stiff and can withstand quite a bit of force. It also breathes well and is easy to clean (just put it in the washing machine!). Be careful with candle wax or fire (temperature play), because although polyamide is not flammable, it can melt quite easily. The melting drops can cause serious burns.

Then the cuffs. I am a big fan of Velcro. It’s very quick to fasten, you can also easily adjust cuffs in size, and it’s almost impossible for the tied person to loosen. Moreover, you can free someone in a matter of seconds. That makes Velcro a very fun, easy and safe way to tie someone up.

This set is a nice beginner’s set. The cuffs have a soft lining and are therefore fairly comfortable. As for me, the lining could have been a bit larger and thicker. My partner doesn’t have thick forearms of her own, but the lining didn’t quite close around her wrist (the photo shows my wrist, by the way). As a result, it takes a little bit of ‘fiddling’ to get the cuffs on properly and comfortably (read: you may have to unhook and reattach the Velcro before it sits satisfactorily).

The sliding buckle is very convenient. With it, you can quite quickly adjust the length of the strap that connects the cuffs.

You can attach the cuffs from the front as well as from the back. This allows you to secure someone in different positions, which allows for various positions.

Conclusion

This is a very cheap cuff set. Nevertheless, it is very effective, durable and strong. If you are looking for something much nicer, or much more comfortable, you will quickly come to leather sets that are at least three times as expensive. That makes this set extremely suitable for beginners.
