More sex = more masturbation
Some women masturbate right after having sex with their partner. You might assume this means that those women are dissatisfied with the sex and therefore want to finish the job? In reality, however, it could mean the exact opposite.
More sex = masturbating more often
Research has found that for sexually satisfied women, frequent sexual activity with their partner is linked to increased masturbation. In other words, masturbation is in addition to their already active and satisfying sex life. By having sex, they seem to want to masturbate more.
However, the same study found that for sexually satisfied men, there was no association between the frequency of sex and the frequency of masturbation. These men masturbated equally no matter how much sex they had.
This is just one of many research results showing that men and women have very different masturbation practices and that the reasons for this are also very different. The masturbation habits of women are perhaps more nuanced than those of men.
