Role playing can brake the routine in the bedroom like noting else. It is exciting to act like you are a (fictional) character. Place yourself in a completely new setting and go for it. For example, by playing the role of an emperor and the slave.
What makes this role play exciting?
One of the most common fantasies is to completely surrender yourself to your partner. Who has never fantasized about a partner taking full control? How hot is it when your otherwise dominant partner suddenly begs to cum?
The imagination of a wealthy influential head of state, such as an emperor, tsar or sultan, who has a sex slave – or perhaps a whole harem – immediately captures the imagination. When we think of ancient Rome, associations with brothels and orgies emerge; A way for Romans to show their prosperity. Those who could afford it kept their own male and female sex slaves. Slaves were also traded, usually offered for sale naked at public auctions, where potential buyers were able to properly examine the goods. In that day and age, using your slave for your sexual pleasure was something like masturbating with a sex toy nowadays. In some images from that time, you can see how someone has sex with a slave, while they are doing household tasks, for example.
The fantasy of a powerful person who has total control and can do whatever he or she wants, erodes many people. The extent to which you perform these roles, depends on your preferences, naturally. Do you let your slave massage you and take orders, or do you continue with bondage, whips, or even humiliation? It is up to you.
Tips for an exciting role play
If you are not very comfortable in a ‘master – slave’ role play, it can help to turn it into a real play, in which you both literally play the role of, for example, an emperor and a slave. As any actor can tell you, it’s easier to empathize with a role if you use props; easily convert your (bed) room into a Roman room with the help of some sheets and candle holders. Place a bowl fruit and some fragrant candles and oil. Also find a playlist with appropriate music.
Discuss well in advance what the setting is and who plays which role. Also determine what each other’s wishes and boundaries are.
For the emperor / empress: Use a sheet to make a toga. Wear leather sandals. Make yourself comfortable on a pillow bed and let your slave serve you. Let the slave bring food, get a massage and don’t be too careful with giving commands. Build it up slowly. If you want to go a little further, tie your slave with (leather) cuffs and hand out ‘punishment’ with a flogger or a whip.
For the slave: With the ancient Romans, slaves were usually naked. But you can keep it a bit more erotic by wearing a loincloth or wrap. In this role you are helpful and do what you are told. Of course it is OK to struggle (if that fits within the game).

Provide appropriate clothing and props to create the best atmosphere. Think, for example, of fragrant massage candles and massage oil.

If you want to take it a little further in the ‘master – slave’ relationship, don’t forget to get some bondage items, such as leather wrist cuffs, ankle cuffs, a whip, gags, or even a spreader bar.
