Tinder is one of the easiest ways for singles to get in touch with other singles. All you need is a smartphone and a finger to swipe with. The widely used app now comes with a new function that let’s its users select their sexual orientation.
As you can see in the video above, the ‘Orientation’ section let’s you select three orientations that fit you best. You can either show those in your public bio, or hide them. Matches will be shown in priority of your selection.
This means that you will now be able to get matches with different genders in your queue, conditional on what you have entered. You will be able to select weather you are straight, gay, asexual, bisexual, demisexual, queer or questioning, or a combination of three of those.
The update comes after feedback of users and research, conducted by Tinder. It showed that 57% of the LGBTQ+ comunity in the USA was interested in an easy way to express their orientation.
The feature will be rolled out in June 2019 in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Ireland, India, Australia and New Zealand. Existing users can edit their data with ‘Edit Info’. New users will be prompted at first use.
