Some sex toys are just brilliant in its conception. Like, take this rotating and vibrating anal plug!? A toy that vibrates, but squirms at the same time. That must give a very special sensation.

What is a Thunderplug squirming anal vibrator?

The company XR Brands, that also came up with the Thump It with kinetic technology, launched a series of three ‘Thunderplugs’ halfway 2019: A squirming, a thrusting and a swelling anal vibrator.

This Thunderplug can rotate, or – better yet – squirm. Because the plug doesn’t actually rotate. The squirming movements are caused by a rotating plastic (ABS) spiral on the inside of the plug. On the outside you can see (and experience) a squirming movement, that I have not seen before.

Specs & functions

This Thunderplug is a vibrator with a length of 19 centimeters and – on its thickets point – a girth of nearly 4.5 centimeters (!). The outside is made of soft and body safe silicone. That’s why it’s better to use a water based lube with this toy.

The motor can vibrate on three different speeds and has five different patterns. But what makes this vibrator really unique, is that it can also squirm in five speeds. In the ‘squirm’ position, the five bumps will move back and forth. And you can also make it squirm and vibrate at the same time! Are you with me?

The remote that is included, you can change the vibrations and the spiral movements separately. First, press and hold the on/off button of the vibrator and then do the same with the on/off button of the remote. Then you can use the ‘up’ button to change the vibration speeds and patterns. With the ‘down’ button, you can activate the squirming. With the left and right buttons, you can change the squirming speed.

You can of course take matters in your own hands, or you could give the remote to your partner. It works up to 10 meters or so.

Further more, the Thunderplug is chargeable with a magnetic USV-cable (included). And – important – the Thunderplug is fully waterproof. So you can also play in the bathtub, or under the shower without any problem.

Unboxing

The Thunderplug comes in a nice white box. The embossing letters are metalic. To be honest, I don’t quite get the name and the thunderbolt. You almost start to think that this toy has to do with electro-stimulation, but that is definitely not the case.

The vibrator sits in a transparent inner casing. Nothing to comment upon.

The vibrator is not charged when you unpack it. Before you can start to play with it, you need to charge it, by placing the charger to the magnetic attachment points. The on/off button will light up. After 2.5 hours, it will be fully charged and the light stops blinking. You should be able to play with it for about 60 minutes.

The remote comes with an installed battery. You only have to remove the paper, that protects the battery, before you can start using it. The battery can be replaced, if needed.

The silicone feels nice and soft.

The ‘test drive’

Vibrating and squirming at the same time. That is kind of briljant, when it comes to think of it. I said it before.But there is one huge problem with this vibrator: The first four bumps are a little over 3 centimeters in girth and the lowest (last) one is no less than four-and-a-half- centimeters! That is enormous!

Use a lot – really a lot – water based lube. Preferably water based lube that is designed for anal use. Next, you must have the patience of a saint. Because the design has multiple bumps, you must have patience before each new one. At least, I had to.

It must be said, that the squirming is special. The remote is very handy to switch through the different positions. Especially squirming mixed with vibrations is a unique experience. You can feel the vibrations quite good.

For me, this toy is just a bit too big for anal use. The vibrations are quiet, but the mechanical movement of the rotating part is much louder (look at the movie above and switch on your sound).

You could use this toy vaginally. The squirming movement in combination with the vibrations stimulate the vaginal wall. My partner (female) thought it was ‘funny’ and somehow exciting, but just not enough to orgasm on. It just didn’t stimulate the G-spot and the vibrations weren’t string enough. Oh, it goes without saying that you must clean the device thoroughly, after anal use before entering the vagina.

Cleaning

The best way to clean this type of waterproof toys, is to just hold it under running water. You can apply some mild soap, if you like. Also you can use a cloth with that. Easy.

Conclusion

The mechanical squirming movement of this Thunderplug is really special. And the combination of vibrating and squirming is unique. Because of the sheer size of this thing, I do not recommend it for beginning users. The remote makes it easy to experiment with the different settings.

The Thunderplug is in the same price range as the LELO Loki, or the LELO Hugo, but I don’t think that it can quite level with those.
