As a sex toy tester, I am always interested in the most innovative gadgets. Fortunately, there are a lot of new sex toys lately, with surprising technological applications. The Thump It is such a toy. Before it was launched in April 2019, the international expectations were very high. That’s why I am honored to be one of the first in the world to test it.

What is een Thump It Anal Plug?

According to its manufacturer, XR Brands, Thump It is the first anal plug that applies kinetic technology to create a powerful thrusting sensation.

Kinetic technology is a complicated term to indicate that the energy of movement is used. What it all comes down to, is that there is a heavy little ball in the plug that is being moved up and down. That’s how it feels like this butt plug makes thrusting movements.

The Thump It plug is waterproof, has 7 different settings (3 different speeds and 4 patterns), can be operated with a remote control and has a silicone finishing on the outside. The Thump It Medium weighs as much as 325 grams!

Don’t be mistaken: This is not your average little butt plug. The total insert length is almost 12 centimeters and its diameter is over 4 centimeter!

Unboxing

The Thump It comes in a slightly business-wise box with a somewhat dull appearance. The print says it all, though: This is a huge butt plug that uses kinetic technology.

Besides the plug and the remote, the box also contains a very small USB charging cord (why, sex toy manufacturers? Why always these short cords?) and a user manual.

The remote control works on two AAA batteries, that are not included by the way. Miner con. But in the drawer where I keep my collection of sex toys are always some unused batteries, so that problem was solved swiftly.

The ‘test drive’

I was extremely curious. What would it do, this kinetic technology? Before testing it in practice, I first charged the plug a bit.

The plug has a small on/off button. You’ll have to press that for three seconds to activate it. The same accounts for the remote. After both have been activated, you can use the second button on the remote to scroll through the 7 different settings. You can use the plug without the remote. In that case – after activating it – you have to press the on/off button shortly to change setting.

When the Thump It starts to work, you can feel how powerful the thrusting movements are. You feel (and hear) a heavy ball gets moved up and down with much force inside the plug. Wow, impressive!

But then comes the inserting part … This is one huge boy! This is absolutely not a plug for beginners. Jeez, what a big and thick thing this is! It costed me quite some effort, even with a large amount of lube (water based, ’cause silicone). It even costed me so much effort, that I had given up a couple of times and had to try again later. And this thing s called medium? You mean there is a large too? Damn!

When I finally succeeded the sensation was truly unique, I have to say. It feels very different than a vibrating plug. The remote makes it very easy to switch settings. I normally don’t like thrusting movements in my behind. I just am not a big fan of the friction. But the beauty is that the Thump It does give you the sensation of thrusting, but it stays in position all along.

Cleaning

Because the Thump It is fully waterproof, you can just hold it under running water. Use some mild (disinfecting) hand soap. There are no ribs or nubs, so cleaning is very simple.

The material does attract a lot of dust, though. Dry it with a cloth that is not pilling and them keep it in a fabric bag (not included unfortunately).

Conclusion

It is not without reason that XR Brands is rewarded several times for their toys. The Thump It is a truly unique innovation. The kinetic technology offers very powerful thrusting movements.

However, this is not a toy for beginners. The Thump It is large and thick, which makes it suitable for experienced users only. gIt is not a cheap toy, either, but you do get a truly unique experience in return.
