Melody Perrault, is an artist from Montreal. Her work is characterized by thin lines of black pen on paper. In addition to being a graphic artist, she has also been tattooing for over 12 years.

Perrault studied art and graphic design. Her career as an illustration started when people asked if they could also buy her tattoo designs for on the wall or on T-shirts.

For Perrault, art is erotic if you can relate to it. Something that evokes memories or makes you fantasize. She likes to express her emotions in her work. The taboo surrounding women’s sexuality acts as a trigger on her. “Everyone has sex. Why isn’t that normal?” Perrault has always been open about her sexuality. At the age of 18 she worked in a sex shop and she even had doubts about swapping her art studies to become a sexologist.

Her work started when she ended her relationship. Drawing sexy women made her more confident. She soon realized that it helped other women and sometimes men too. The goal of her work is therefore to make people feel normal. “It’s normal to have sexual desires, it’s normal to want to feel wanted, it’s normal to masturbate, you know, all that stuff!”
