Lulu Amere is a French artist born in 1966. Her pseudonym is an anagram of her real name: Muel Laure. Amere comes from an artistic family with a mother who painted and a father who sculpted.
Among other things, Amere worked as a graphic designer for an advertising agency. She currently lives in Provence where she has an atalier at home in the middle of nowhere amid her chickens, her dog and her cats.
Fellow artist Piotr Wójcik wrote about her: “Amere’s themes combine innocence and eroticism with seductive and melancholic eyes. Struck by a languorous sensuality, these mysterious, elusive and volatile women captivate without ever lapsing into vulgarity. Each of her paintings is a model of finesse and suggestion. Full of erudition and eroticism, her elegant and subtle style favours humour, lightness and eccentricity. The bodies and gestures emphasise the erotic and sexual. Amere loves women who are sometimes wildly voluptuous, sometimes gleefully sensual, and paints them with great mysterious charm.”
