A new version of the Tenga SVR (Smart Vibe Ring) is on the way. It will be available in Europe from September 2022. Even before it is available in the Dutch shops, Tenga allowed me to test this toy. I have tested the current SVR before (read my review of the Tenga SVR here). That earlier SVR was still referred to by Tenga as a vibrating penis ring, but due to some adjustments, the Tenga SVR One has now become even more versatile.
What is the Tenga SVR One?
Tenga themselves say that the Tenga Smart Vibe Ring One is intended as a ‘partnered use vibrator’; in other words, a vibrator to be used together with your partner. But nothing stops you from using this little vibrator on your own. Whether you have a penis or a vagina.
In principle, the Tenga SVR is a kind of vibrating penis ring. The main difference is that it is not a ring, but it has a C-shape. This C-shape can be put around your penis, so that – just like with other penis rings – the erection becomes harder and lasts longer. The vibrating part comes against the clitoris during Penis-in-Vagina (PiV) sex and provides extra stimulation.
But what’s cool about this C-shape is that it’s easier to remove or put on during sex. You can also put the SVR on your fingers for massage, or for jacking off or fingering.
The word ‘One’ in the name Tenga SVR One refers to only one vibration speed.

Unboxing
Like all products from Tenga and sister company Iroha, the packaging of the Tenga SVR One is also neat and discreet. The small box contains a cardboard holder that holds the SVR and two batteries. There is also a manual in the box.
On the back of the box are two small drawings that show that you can put the SVR One around the penis as well as around your fingers.
To put the batteries in the SVR, you have to open the device by turning it a quarter of a turn. No rocket science.
The test drive with the Tenga Smart Vibe Ring One
Vibrating cock rings are always a bit tricky. First of all, putting them on is a bit of a hassle, and then you also want the vibrations to stimulate in the right place. They have to squeeze the blood circulation a little (to stimulate the erection), but not too much (because you don’t want it to hurt).
What I liked about the Tenga SVR One is that it has a C-shape. That makes it a little easier to put on and – perhaps more importantly – to take off during sex. Because let’s face it, sometimes you want extra vibrations, and sometimes you don’t.
The C-shape of the ring on the SVR One is hard. With the ‘old’ SVR, it is made of stretchy silicone. Yes, you can pull the ‘legs’ of the C apart a little, but it is less stretchy. I therefore found it a little less comfortable in the beginning.
The one button on it is also hard to find during sex. That’s why you will soon fall into the routine: put it on (with a little bit of lubricant, to make it just a bit easier), switch it on, have sex, and then take it off (because turning it off is just undoable). Depending on the position, you also want to be able to rotate the SVR so that the vibrator points at the clitoris. Again, that’s easier if you’ve used some lube.
We (my partner and I) found it much more fun to use the Tenga SVR One for massaging, jerking off and fingering.
Whether the Tenga SVR One is more fun than the ‘old’ Tenga SVR is a difficult question to answer. The ring of the old SVR was more flexible, but the C-shape of the new SVR One is more convenient. The old one has more modes (five to be exact) and this one only one. The old one is rechargeable and this one runs on batteries. What is a big improvement of this new SVR One though, is that the vibrations are better. The vibrations of the old one were somewhat absorbed by the material and that is much less the case with this one. Also, the SVR One promises to be a lot cheaper than the old one (the Tenga SVR One will cost around €30, while the ‘old’ one costs almost €70).
Conclusion
The new Tenga SVR One is a very nice and versatile soother, which you can use during PiV sex, as well as during massages and manual sex (jerking off and fingering). It can also be used as a bullet vibrator.
