A while ago I received a box full of fun toys from the likable Dutch brand OhYes. Previously I reviewed a nice set of their buttplugs. This time I will review the vibrating penis ring for (straight) couples.
What is thee OhYes Vibrating Couples Ring
This toy is a wirelessly controlled flexible cock ring in the shape of a horseshoe, or ‘U’. Both ends of the U are slightly curled and have their own motor. And when I say cock ring, I am somewhat shortchanging this toy. Because the special shape, the bendability and the motors in both endings, makes it is also excellent for solo sex, or to wear in your panties. In short it is a multifunctional toy.
This couples ring is made of skin-friendly silicone and is 100% waterproof. The inner diameter of the ring is 3.3 cm. The ring is 2cm thick at the points and 2.8cm at the thickest point. It measures 7.7cm x 6.8cm in size. So that’s quite a large ring!
You control the ring with a remote control that works up to 10 meters. The remote control allows you to switch between 9 different vibration patterns. The remote control works on a button cell battery. The ring is rechargeable by means of a magnetic USB cable.
There is a 2 year warranty on this toy!
Unboxing
The OhYes packaging is all very nicely designed. Actually, the toy is in a storage box with a printed cardboard cover. You can get rid of that cover, but then you’re still left with a nice black box that can be discreet on your nightstand.
The box contains the ring and the remote control, but also an extra (spare) button battery for the remote control and a magnetic USB cable. It also comes with an instruction manual in Dutch, English and French. Also included is a card to register your purchase for a 2-year warranty.
See, I so love that. The packaging and the experience have clearly been thought through. The printed cover contains all the information you need before purchasing, but it can be disposed afterwards. And then everything you need is just in a nice little box. On top of that, the packaging has a QR code that takes you to a website for more information. On that website you can not only register your device, but you can also download a booklet with an erotic story (in Dutch). Fun, fun, fun!
The test drive
And then what it’s all about: does it do what it’s supposed to do? And you know what? Vibrating cock rings are just always a little tricky. Either they pinch too much, or too little. And also how you experience the vibrations depends on the position you use them in. So I’ll try to describe as objectively as possible how our test drive went.
Personally, I like penis rings that pinch a little. The blood flow from the penis is then somewhat restricted, giving you a harder erection that also lasts longer. Well, this penis ring does not do that. Because it has a flexible U-shape, it does fit snugly around the penis, but not so tightly that it reduces blood flow. Whether that is an advantage or disadvantage, I leave to you, dear penis owner.
The remote control is very nice. If you are using this ring during penetration, you don’t want to have to look for a button to have to change the setting.
Well, and then the vibrations. These are of the ‘buzzing’ type rather than the ‘rumbling’ type. The frequency is quite high, even in the lowest modes. Also, the patterns are a bit ‘rushed’ and fast. That in itself is not so bad, but because of that they fit more in the love game when you are already somewhat aroused and not in foreplay when you want to get excited. Our opinion.
The vibrations do not resonate well in the penis. This is due to the high vibration frequency. That’s why it’s most pleasant for the ‘receiving party’ to feel the vibrations directly against the clitoris and vulva. And that, in turn, works best in the missionary position (with the CAT technique) or positions where she is on top (cowgirl).
By the way, the thickness of the ring is not a hindrance. By that I mean that it doesn’t “take away” much from the length of the penis, or – so to speak – from the depth of penetration.
What’s nice about the shape of this ring, though, is that you can also use it for purposes other than PiV sex (Penis in Vagina). For example, you can also use the ring to stimulate the clitoris, the nipples, or the frenulum. And you can, for example, put the ring in your panties and give your partner the remote control.
Conclusion
This penis ring is nice for straight couples who like extra vibrations during PiV sex and whose man doesn’t like the clamping feeling you get with many penis rings. It’s a penis ring with a bit more buzzing vibrations.
