Nipple clamps and nipple jewelry are more popular than ever. Most women would run away screaming a couple of years ago, when you tried to place something on their nipples. Now you can find them in a growing number of bedrooms, but even in clubs and on the beach. Women (and men too, by the way) seem to be less spooked from the idea to enjoy ‘sweet pain’. And that is why we give you a couple of tips.
Nipple clamps: bark or bite?
Most nipple clamps bark much harder than they bite. Some look downright painful. But most are designed to just apply mild pressure, so they feel more slightly squeezing and give a warm tingly feeling. Many women say that wearing nipple clamps makes them more sensitive in other areas of their body.
Recent designs look more like jewelry than a torture device, which makes them more appealing to a broader audience.
The goal of wearing nipple clamps is to enjoy a mild agonizing pain. The popularity of erotic novels with some BDSM, has gotten many women interested in (soft) bondage. They are not necessarily looking for a beating with a whip, but they do like a little kink in the bedroom. So not a workbench to pinch their nipples, but but rather a clip on earring.
Choosing your first (or next) nipple clamp or nipple jewelry, is not rocket science. But some background information never hurt anyone.
The feeling a nipple clamp gives, varies from playful to outright painful and what you experience strongly depends on the sensitivity of your nipples and how firm the grip is of the nipple clamp. The same nipple clamp can be experienced as harsh by one, and mild by someone else.
Men also have sensitive nipples and may enjoy nipple clamps as well. But women usually have larger and more sensitive nipples than men.
With a simple test you can find out how sensitive your nipples are. That should help you in finding the most suitable nipple clamps for you: Are you super sensitive (level 1), sensitive (level 2) or more accessible (level 3)?
Super sensitive tepels respond easily to touch. Women with the sensitivity of this level will find a mild pinch nice, but twisting and biting not so much, for example. When the idea of a plastic clothes-peg is way to much for you and you prefer soft sensual touch, look for nipple clamps that are made of soft material, or with adjustable pressure.
Sensitive nipples can take some more pressure. When you like your nipples to be pinched, twisted or nibbled, you fall into level 2 sensitivity. A plastic clothes-peg is reasonably endurable.
When your nipples are more accessible to pain, you probably like it when they are pulled hard and long. When a clothes-peg seems fun, you like nipple clamps of level 3.
Choosing the best nipple clamps
It is always nicer to want a bit more, than to overstep. When you are not sure if you have level 2 or 3 nipple sensitivity, go for those that are for the second level.
In general, there are three kinds of nipple clamps: adjustable, not adjustable, and suckers:
- Adjustable clamps offer the possibility to increase the pressure by tightening or sliding the clamp.
- Non adjustable clamps have only one level of pressure that cannot be changed. But you can make the feeling more intense by pulling or twisting the clamp.
- Nipple suckers don’t clamp the nipple, but create a vacuum, that softly pulls the nipple.
Adjustable clamps or suckers are the best choice for beginners, because they are often softer and offer more opportunities to experiment.
In addition, there is also a wide variety in nipple jewelry. These are usually self-adhesive stickers that you put over your nipples.
Different types of clamps and for whom they are intended
Super sensitive: level 1
When your nipples are super sensitive (level 1) and you are looking for a nipple clamp, ga for a nipple sucker, a nipple clip, or a soft adjustable clamp. These emphasize the sensitivity without becoming painful.
Sensitive: level 2
When you are more of the pinch of level 2, tweezers-like clamps, adjustable alligator clips, magnetic clamps and clamps with screws are probably more your thing. These clamps ensure a moderate pinch that can be reinforced by playing with it. They are playful achy, have a firm pinch, and build pleasure if you wear them a bit longer.
Accessible: Level 3
When you are more the accessible type (level 3) and like a more intens sensation, go for the non adjustable clamps, clamps with weights, or vibrating clamps. They will feel a bit ‘sharper’, stronger, harder, more intens, challenging and downright painful.
For this category, weights of 50 gram or 100 gram are recommended. Further more, you might take a look at the extreme harnas. Then there are nipple clamps in the shape of scissors. Very special are nipple clamps with a vibrating weight. Even a bit further, are these nipple clamps that can produce tiny electric shocks.
