Tenga continues to come up with innovations to make masturbation an even better experience. One of the newest products from this Japanese company is the Pocket Tenga, or a pocket-sized Tenga masturbator. This is meant to be carried in your pocket for when the need is greatest. I was sent three Pocket Tenga’s in exchange for an honest review.
What is a Pocket Tenga?
Tenga is a Japanese company known for their innovative sex toys for individuals with a penis. They are known for their “Eggs” and “Cups”. New is the pocket-sized masturbator: the Pocket Tenga.
The Pocket Tenga is a piece-wrapped masturbator sleeve in a small pouch that easily fits in your trousers or inside pocket. There are six different Pocket Tenga’s, each with a different structure on the inside, differing in firmness, stimulation and details.
The sleeves are made of elastomer (TPE). This is an extremely flexible material that is super soft to the touch. Because of this, it actually fits everyone. When you take the masturbator out of the package it is 8 cm long and 5 cm in diameter.
Each pouch contains one masturbator and a sachet of lubricant. You can use the pouch to dispose of the used masturbator and sachet.
Unboxing the Pocket Tenga
At first I had no idea what to expect from this new product. I have tested many Tenga products and am generally very excited about the added value they bring to masturbation.
The Pocket Tenga comes in a pouch that is about the size of a pack of gum. It weighs only 27 grams and is barely half a centimeter thick.
At the top, there is a notch, which allows you to very easily tear off the top. In the pouch you will find the masturbator between a sheet of plastic and a sachet with some lubricant.
On the back of the package, there’s a lot more blah blah, like the warning that this is not a condom. So you’ve been warned.
The test drive with the Pocket Tenga
If you look closely on the packaging of the three different Pocket Tenga’s, you’ll see some sort of sliders in the lower right hand corner that indicate how the variants differ from each other. One would be a little firmer and the other would have a little more detail.
On the inside they differ in structure. And by structure you should think of minimal ridges and bumps, which when masturbating should provide extra stimulation.
The feel of the Pocket Tenga is similar to that of a Tenga Egg, but because the Pocket is much thinner, it is somewhat easier to handle. The texture on the inside is subtle and not very ‘present’.
Next I tested the dark blue one (Crystal Mist) and then the light blue one (Wave Line). All three Pocket Tenga’s gave a lovely soft massage, as if you were being jerked off with velvety gloves. Delightful just the same. But whether I really experienced a difference between the different sleeves? I think if you blindfolded me, I wouldn’t notice the difference between one or the other. Maybe my penis is just not that super sensitive (anymore).
After use, you can indeed put the masturbator and the empty sachet back into the pouch nicely. There is a kind of zip closure on it, to dispose of it neatly in the waste bin. Perhaps – if you are very frugal – you could also turn the Pocket Tenga inside out to clean it and then store it again for a second or third time, but I just didn’t bother.
Conclusion
Actually, this is a very clever concept. Anyone with a penis who might want to get their hands on themselves (or someone else) on the go could have such a Pocket Tenga in their pocket. There is only one thing missing: I would add a small paper towel to the package. The lubricant is a bit sticky and you would prefer to clean yourself after use. The handkerchief could then also be disposed of in the bag.
