Who is more submissive than your dog? You’d say nothing. Or perhaps, ‘no one’. Could this be the origin of having a sub behave like a pet? NBRplaza explains.
Puppy Play
Puppy play has a lot of similarities with pony play. It is a role playing game with a submissive that takes on the part of a dog and a dominant who is the ‘owner’, or the trainer. Just like with pony play, such a role playing game has nothing at all to do with bestiality. Real dogs are never a part of the play.
For many human puppies, there is no question of submissiveness or humiliation. It is more a way of not having to be oneself, but as playful as a little dog who is frolic and the center of attention. It is a question of getting petted and nurtured.
Just like with other role playing games, like Pony play and Age play, there are different ways to flesh out this fetish. Some people want to mimic the behavior of a dog (bark, crawl on all fours, eat from a bowl), while others want to become part of a dog world (petting, obey). Some want to become the alpha dog and play an aggressive dominant puppy, that wants to dominate other pups. And like there are different puppies, there are also different bosses. Some will let their puppies do tricks, nurture them, or train them to behave.
What do you need for puppy play?
First and most important, you need to have a consenting like minded person to play with. In contrast to pony play, puppy play doesn’t have to be a costly thing. You need minimal equipment to start with. But some things will finish your role playing game.
A collar and leash
A collar is perhaps most important for the puppy. You can attach a leach and you will be able to teach the pup its place when it behaves badly. Also, you will be able to reduce free movement. There are collars available in many different materials and colors.
Masks
A mask (preferably in the shape of a dog’s head) prevents your pup to talk like a human and will make it look like a proper dog. It will also prevent your dog from biting. With a dog’s head the pup will be able to get into character better. Most masks are very well suited for sensory deprivation.
A bone
Every pup needs something to bite on. never use real dog toys, because the human dentition is different from real dogs. Fortunately, there are many toys you can use in puppy play, like a silicone bone and even a bone with a dog’s tongue (which allows you to feed your dog).
A tail
What is a dog without its tail? Your puppy doesn’t have to go without one in its frolic life. There are many butt plugs with a tail attached available. Tails are made from different materials, such as rubber, plush and even fake hair. Something for everyone. The plug is usually made of rubber, glass or metal.
Bondage
Sometimes puppy play is combined with bondage. This way, the legs and arms are tied, forcing the dog to walk on knees and elbows. Always use soft rope or bondage tape that is east to remove and reuse.
Miscellaneous
If you like you can go crazy with about everything there is for sale in a pet shop, like a dog bowl, a dog basket, brushes, will, you get it, right? Go as far as you like. You might want to consider a bench to lock up your dog if it is naughty.
By the way, it is never OK to feed your puppy dog feed or dog biscuits. Commercial dog feed contains meat that is not fit for human consumption. Some may contain cadavers of animals that have not died in the slaughterhouse or even of sick animals. Besides that, it might contain antioxidants that are prohibited for human consumption. There is enough food that looks like dog food, but is not, and that you will be able to give your puppy in a bowl (bake your own cookies in the shape of a bone).
