An enigma is something puzzling. Something mysterious. Now sex may also be a mystery to many and it probably always will be. With the ENIGMA, LELO wants to express that there are many possibilities to satisfy your desires.
What is the LELO ENIGMA?
First of all, my sincere apologies for the caps lock, but LELO writes their name and the names of their products in capital letters. Not that you think I’m shouting or anything.
As you would expect from LELO, the ENIGMA is also a very luxurious and special toy. After all, it has a dual function. It is a G-spot vibrator and at the same time a sonic stimulator that has a sucking effect on the clitoris.
The little arm that goes into the vagina, vibrates and pulses against the G-spot. That sonic part – that goes on the clitoris – works with sound waves, which makes it a different in technology from other clitoral toys that work on air pressure (like the Womanizer). However, the idea is similar. The beauty of this toy is, that you can use both functions simultaneously.
Specs & functions of the LELO ENIGMA

If you’re familiar with other LELO toys, you know that only the best is good enough. The LELO ENIGMA is made of body-safe silicone in pretty deep pink or black.
You control this device with three buttons. There are 8 modes for both motors, 1 of which is constant and 7 patterns. Each mode can be turned up and down in 8 steps. Oh, and it’s completely waterproof (hooray!).
Furthermore, this thing runs on a rechargeable Li-Ion battery, which – once fully charged – gives you as much as 2 hours of playtime. Moreover, the LELO – like most other toys from this brand – can standby for up to 90 days on a full battery. So no surprises of a ‘dead’ toy when you’re in the mood for one.
THE LELO ENIGMA is not a small toy. The little arm that goes inside you is 14cm long and 3.5cm in diameter. You really have something in your hands too, as the toy weighs almost 2 ounces.
The ENIGMA is actually a fusion of two of LELO’s best-selling products: the SONA and the SORAYA. In doing so, LELO has created a new hybrid toy that combines the sonic technology for clitoral stimulation of the SONA with deep resonant vibrations for the G-spot of the SORAYA.
Unboxing the LELO ENIGMA

The LELO ENIGMA comes in a black box made of thick cardboard with gold printing. You can see what you’re buying because the box has a see-through window.
In the box, in addition to the ENIGMA, is a very short USB cable. But really really short. That may not be a neck issue, but in my case, I really had to think about which outlet to use so the ENIGMA didn’t have to be on the floor.
Also included is a small bag of lubricant and a card that you can use to sign up your product for a 1-year product warranty and a 10-year (!) quality guarantee.
Finally, there is also a satin storage pouch, which – if you ask me – is a bit on the cramped side. You really have to cram to get the ENIGMA and the cable in there. But at least one is included, and that’s quite something.
Taking the LELO ENIGMA for a test drive
Let me say up front that I am a big fan of LELO’s innovative toys. And the ENIGMA is no exception. Still, there is a big ‘but’.
You see, my partner (cis woman) is raving about the ENIGMA. She describes the vibrations as “particularly deep and intense” and in combination with the sonic stimulation of her clitoris, she experiences orgasms of the “trembling legs, involuntary muscle contraction and a wet bedsheet” type. A friend – who I know has one – also comes to the same summarized conclusion:
“A plus is that you roll spastically through the bed and even twitch your eyes when you come with a red face. The downside is that my hair is impossible to comb out the day after!”.
On top of that, the toy is really whisper quiet and can be used in the bath or shower. Also, the ENIGMA is very flexible. As a result, it will always fit your personal anatomy (something the average tarzan or rabbit vibrator generally fails at, for example).
Those are very rave reviews, wouldn’t you say? So where does my “but” come from?
Well, that’s because this is not a toy for novice users, or women with very sensitive intimate parts. Not only might the appearance be a bit intimidating, for them this toy might be a tad ‘too much’. Not everyone likes such intense vibrations. Furthermore, this is more of a toy that you, as a possessor of a vagina, want to use solo. It is a bit of a search for the right position of the G-spot vibrator and the sonic part to both align on the right spots. Because the ENIGMA is so flexible, it really requires some experimentation. And when I (as a partner) try to do that, it was – well – nigh impossible to follow her instructions perfectly (“tap to … no, a little more, yes, no … ah, let me“). Especially the correct positioning of the sonic opening is no easy task.
Well, and then there’s the controls. I’m very excited about the controls on other LELO toys, but if you ask me, LELO made a design error here. There are 8 modes, all of which you can adjust with plus and minus. But if you switch modes – with the middle button – the next mode starts in the loudest frequency. The first time you are shocked and you go like crazy on the minus button. And that every time you change modes. Oh, and then some more. The ENIGMA has two motors, but you can not operate them separately. So if you turn up the vibrations, the suction part will also suck harder. For a premium toy of this price, you would expect more.
Conclusion
The LELO ENIGMA is a perfect toy if you like deep hard vibrations against your G-spot and simultaneous stimulation of your clitoris. However, this is definitely not a toy for novice users, or for women who want softer vibrations. Furthermore, this toy is primarily for solo use. We found it less suitable for playing with together.

Great to see you found a way to use it together. Thanks for sharing!
This article says it’s more for solo play but we like to use it together with her laying against me on our sides. I can kiss her and stimulate the top half while the enigma does it’s magic on the lower half. If we want extra stimulation we can turn something on to watch and both see while we lay there. After getting the enigma placed correctly she winds up grinding into one of my thighs to help hold it in my place and pressing into to my excitement with her backside. Once the enigma has done its thing she is so wet and sensitive that just rubbing her outer lips with my head and then entering her sets her off again with 1-2-3+ more to follow while I finish. Multiple orgasms use to take a lot of work and control of my excitement. Still fun to do that but when it’s late and we need to get to sleep but want some fun the enigma helps speed up the fun to ensure she gets multiples and feeling her shake uncontrollably and hearing her whine and pant from the pleasure both from the toy and then once I enter her is just wonderful.
