Because I was an official participant in Tenga’s #doitinmay challenge, I was sent a package of sex toys from them. One of those toys was the iroha Rin and it is so special that I thought more people should know about the existence of this unique vibrator.

What is the iroha Rin Akané?

iroha (with a lowercase letter) is a brand of the Japanese company Tenga. Now you may know Tenga primarily from the masturbators for penises, but with the iroha brand Tenga offers unique and innovative toys for people of all genders. When I signed up for Tenga’s #doitinmay challenge I received a package that included this iroha Rin Akené. May has been masturbation month for years and Tenga wanted to bring extra attention to that with their challenge.

The iroha Rin Akané is a classic bullet vibrator with a unique soft spherical head. The exterior of this vibrator is made of soft white silicone, which attracts gen dust. The Rin runs on two included AAA batteries. On two new batteries you can play for about 4 hours on the highest setting. There are three constant vibrations and one vibration pattern. Furthermore, the Rin is waterproof to a depth of 50cm.

This is a very lightweight device, weighing only 82 grams. It is 3.5cm in diameter and 14.8cm long.

There are a few variants available of the iroha Rin. The Akané is battery operated and has a red base. It is also available with a gold base; the iroha Kogané. There are also two rechargeable variants; the iroha Rin Hisui and the iroha Rin Sango.

Unboxing the iroha Rin Akené

The iroha Rin Akané comes in a stylish box with a distinctly oriental touch, in that it contains images of bamboo. This makes it look like something that fits into a lifestyle of peace, tranquility and eastern wisdom. At least, it evokes that idea in me. The packaging does not immediately give the impression that you are dealing with a sex toy here.

In addition to the vibrator, the box also contains two batteries.

What is notable is that there is no manual included. Instead, iroha has placed a QR code on the packaging that takes you to Tenga’s website. Pretty handy, because A) it’s not that hard, so you probably won’t need the manual at all and B) this way you save paper, which is better for the environment. All you really need to know is how to insert the batteries. Well, like this:

The test drive with the iroha Rin Akané

Because of its small size and only 2 AAA batteries, I wasn’t expecting too much from the iroha Rin. But “boy, was I wrong! See, it already starts with that flexible soft head. It really does feel wonderful. Without turning on the motor, it’s already nice to let the soft ball slide along your sensitive spots.

At the bottom, in the hard plastic base, is a large button. Pressing the button for a few seconds causes the vibrator to vibrate softly. Soft, but not bad at all. Pressing the button again takes you through the different modes.

In the video below, you can see that it is barely noticeable that the vibrator is vibrating. You don’t see it, you don’t hear it. But you definitely feel it. That’s only evident when I hold the Rin up to the box.

So the iroha Rin is not only cute and fine, but also does a good job! And because it’s gender-neutral, the thing is suitable for penis owners as well as vagina owners. You can use it wonderfully externally (against the glans, nipples, clitoris) as well as internally in the vagina. I would not use it anally, because there is no T-shape that prevents the thing from disappearing all the way inside you.

Cleaning is very easy because the iroha Rin is waterproof up to 50cm. So you can just rinse or submerge it.

Conclusion

The iroha Rin has a very attractive design, a silky soft silicone shell, and a unique soft spherical head. Always use a few drops of water-based lubricant for an even more enjoyable experience.
