What is the Lovebox?
Of course you can send messages over Whatsapp, SnapChat, or Twitter DM. But isn’t that a bit impersonal? The Lovebox is a small wooden box with a large sweet heart on it. But the box is filled with smart technology. You can send messages to it from your smartphone.
With the free Lovebox app, you can create messages or drawings. When the message is received at the Lovebox, the heart will start to spin, to inform you that there is a new message.
Your message will be shown on the screen inside the box.
Your partner can let you know he or she likes the message by spinning the heart on the box. You will receive hearts on the screen of your device.
The Lovebox must be connected with a Wifi network. A Lovebox can receive messages from multiple senders (when they have the app).
The story of Lovebox
When Jean Gregoire graduated in 2015 at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines in Paris, he wanted to continue his study at the MIT in Boston. But that meant he had to live at a long distance from his girlfriend.
Before he moved to Boston, Gregoire created his first Lovebox and gave that to his lover. His prototype had a bigger heart, that was so heavy it repeatedly fell of the night stand.
After a Kickstart campagne, he collected enough money to improve the concept. He sold over 20,000 since 2017 then.
