The great thing about bondage is that you – as the person tied up – can surrender to the kinky whims of your partner. And for the other person, it’s a way to tease your partner and give them full attention. If you want to start with bondage, it can be useful to buy a so-called bondage ‘kit’ or package. After all, this contains everything you need to tie your partner to the bed, for example. A bit of a kit contains wrist and ankle cuffs and some more straps to attach those cuffs to something. EasyToys asked if I would review the Fetish Fantasy kit from Pipedream. And even though we already have several kits, I was curious.
Spoiler alert: Great beginners kit … for people with small beds …
What is the Fetish Fantasy Bed Restraint Kit?
Fetish Fantasy is a sub-brand of Pipedream. That brand offers affordable bondage and kinky toys, such as cuffs, whips, nipple clamps, masks, sex swings and gags. They even have a pole for pole dancing. So anyway, in their range there is also a bondage set, which you can use to tie your partner to the bed.
The kit contains 7 parts:
- 2 wrist cuffs
- 2 ankle cuffs
- 3 adjustable straps
The idea is that you put the long strap under your bed or mattress and then the other straps either go to the head and foot ends, or to the sides. You can then attach the cuffs to the straps with musketoon hooks. The cuffs themselves you attach around the wrists and ankles with Velcro.
Unboxing the Fetish Fantasy Bed Restraint Kit
Call me a whiner, but lately I’m starting to get a little annoyed with the packaging of sex toys. More and more people are buying online and a package should give you the feeling of a present, right? The box of the Fetish Fantasy Bed Restraint doesn’t give you that feeling. It’s designed to hang on the wall of a sex shop. You can tell, not only by the two “eyes” in the packaging; the box mostly has pictures that should give you an impression of what’s inside. If you buy online, you don’t need those hanging eyes and those pictures have very little added value.
Another point of annoyance is the amount of plastic used to wrap sex toys. Guys, stop doing that!
Well, anyway, if you get over that, there is little to add to the “unboxing”. It’s a box and there’s a plastic bag in there. And in that is the set. The bands are held together by some rubber bands. C’est ça.
The testrit … that never came

I was already a bit afraid of it: this set was not going to be it.
Look, these wrist cuffs are fine. They have (very) long pieces of Velcro, so they always fit. They’re not the most comfortable cuffs, but they’re not really very uncomfortable either. In fact, they are quite fine. And Velcro is very nice for cuffs. The person tying up can easily adjust them to size and quickly loosen and fasten them. The other person, who is tied up, can’t undo them how hard they try. The musketon hooks are also nice, because you can just loosen the cuffs if you want to change position, for example.
Where it goes wrong is with the straps that need to go under your bed. At least, that’s where it went wrong with us. The idea is that you put the longest strap under your mattress or under your bed. The other straps – the ones that go to the wrist and ankle cuffs – are attached to them. This creates a kind of H-shape.
Now we have an extremely large twin box spring bed of 180 x 210. So in fact it’s just two beds of 90 x 210. And our box spring bed has very thin (8cm) memory foam mattresses. In addition, our bed has a high headboard. That really is great for comfort and I can recommend it to anyone who wants a good night’s sleep. But this kit is not designed for that. The long strap (which goes across the length) can’t go along the headboard. And the cross ties are only 2 m long, so they don’t make it under the box spring. They have to go under the top cover mattresses, but those are too thin to provide enough resistance for bondage. Plus, the long strap that goes the length of the bed then no resistance at all, since it’s two mattresses (twin beds, remember?).
The only possibility is to pass the set across under the bed. The person who is going to be tied up must then also lie crosswise on the bed, because otherwise the cuffs won’t come out properly. But then somehow you can’t restrict the freedom of movement enough (quite apart from the fact that you just don’t lie comfortable across as well).
Conclusion
This is a nice beginner’s set, but check first to see if it fits your bed. With our bed, we couldn’t get it to fit nicely. If you have a smaller bed (say 140 wide or smaller), or a “regular” mattress, it might work out better.
The PROS of the Fetish Fantasy Bed Restraint Kit:
- Reasonable price
- Velcro; easy to loosen and fasten
- Musketon hooks make it easy to change positions
- Cuffs are easy to adjust
- Cuffs are reasonably comfortable
- Can also be used with other cuffs (if you already have any at home)
The CONS:
- Not suitable for all beds and mattresses (no matter what they say)
- Bit of a cheap box
- No storage pouch (with these kinds of long straps, that’s going to be a lot of tying and tangling)
The Fetish Fantasy Bed Restraint Kit was made available by EasyToys in exchange for an honest review. The kit can be bought at EasyToys, at Bol.com and in our own NBRPlaza shop. Besides, there is also a ‘limited edition‘, of which it is unclear what the difference is (apart from a different package).
