EDC, the company behind EasyToys.nl and the afiliate NBRplaza shop, partly takes over the eroticism companies Beate Uhse and Pabo 4.0. Through the planned acquisition, EDC will become one of the largest online retaliers in sex toys in Europe.
Two brothers from the Dutch city of Hulst (Zeeland) started Pabo in 1984 as a mail order company in porn videos, sex toys and lingerie. Since 1999 the company was part of German Beate Uhse, that also acquired the Dutch wholesaler Scala and retail outlets Christine le Duc. In July 2017 a number of Dutch activities have been sold to an Irish investment company.
Online activities
With over 100,000 visitors each month and over 14,000 erotic products, EasyToys.nl is already the largest erotic webshop of The Netherlands and Belgium. Under the conditions of the take over, EDC will immediately serve all Beate Uhse-webshops, Pabo.nl, Pabo.be, Beate-Uhse.com and AdametEve.fr.
EDC Retail will only acquire the online activities of the Beate Uhse Group. It is not yet clear what will happen with the retail outlets. EDC was launched twelve years ago on an attic in the Dutch province of Drenthe. In 2018 their turnover was over 21 million Euro. Each day the company from Veendam is visited by over 100,000 consumers. Next to EasyToys.nl, EDC Retail also serves other webshops with erotic products, among which the affiliate shop of NBRplaza.
The company also has its own production facilities in Dongguan, China and a wholesale branche that ships a large number of products to Europe, Central America, Asia and Africa.
Financial details with regards to the take over have not been revealed. The transaction is planned to be completed later this month.
