EDC – The Dutch company behind EasyToys, amongst others – developed a new line of ‘drug store products’ named Intome. I was curious from the start to some of teh products in this range. Especially the Clitoral Arousal Gel appealed to me (cis male) ad my partner (cis female). We use stimulating lubes regularly, just because they add something to the experience.
What is Intome Clitoral Arousal Gel?
The name says it all, actually: This is a nourishing gel that also works to prevent friction. On top of that it will make the clitoris more sensitive, so you will experience seks more intensively.
You can spread the gel over the entire vulva (clitoris, labia, around the vaginal opening) and anus if you like. And you can do that as much and often as you want.
Gels like these can help to close the orgasm gap. Many women need clitoral stimulation to get an orgasm and a gel like this will make you more sensitive in the intimate area.
But even when you have no issues at all with your orgasms, this type of stimulating gels can add to the fun because they will make you more aroused and stimulate you extra.
All of the Intome products come in a package that would fit nicely in any pharmacy. The carton contains the user instructions in Spanish, Italian, English, German and Dutch. That is quite a lot of text for such a small box, so you better have good eye sight!
The Intome Clitoral Arousal gel contains a small tube of 30 ml (40 gram). When you take off the cap, there is a small piece of aluminum foil that needs to be removed, as you often see with toothpaste for example. This goes rather smoothly though.
Personally, I find it important to know what it is that goes into such product. After all, you do apply it to your intimate parts. Fortunately, all ingredients are mentioned on the packaging.
The gel is water based. To give the water a consistent structure, a number of components have been added (Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Alcohol Denat, Carbomer, Polysorbate 20, PEG-40, Hydrogenated Castor Oil). This ensures that the water becomes thicker and that all ingredients mix and connect well.
Next to that, there are a number of conservatives in the gel, that are also quite common in food and cosmetics (Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Disodium EDTA). These compounds will prevent decay, prolong shelf life and prevent fungi and yeast. Aminomethyl Propanol is used to give the product the correct pH level.
Much to my surprise, two coloring agents have been added (CI 19140 and CI 17200); respectively yellow and red. This gives the gel a slightly orange color.
But the most important ingredients are Methyl PCA and Mentol. These compounds give the gel a mild tingling and nourishing effect.
What I do find important to say is that all of these ingredients have been approved to be used in cosmetics and food by different authorities (like the FDA), provided they are used in small dosages.
But you are going to put this stuff on your punani and that is perhaps your most sensitive area of the body. In all honesty, this is not exactly a hypoallergenic product. When you are sensitive to infections, get an irritated skin easily, or when you are just overall critical, you must know that some of the ingredients should be avoided (like alcohol – can dry your skin – and glycerin – have been connected to yeast infections, although this is not scientifically proven).
The ‘test drive’
The Intome Clitoris Gel is very thin and almost runs out of the tube. It is recommended to apply it directly on the target area. Then you can spread it easily with your fingers. The gel is completely odorless, by the way. It tastes slightly bitter (not too bad, but also not very tasty).
My partner told me she immediately felt a mild fresh and tingling effect. That feeling os not very strong or ‘present’, but it is definitely there. After I’applied it, it worked for at least a couple of minutes. After that, the gel seemed to be absorbed by the skin and the feeling was less noticeable.
It might be called ‘Clitoral Arousal Gel’ but in the end it was inevitable that my penis got in touch with the gel. I too felt the mild refreshing feeling. Maybe not as strong as some of the stimulating lubes we use, but still nice and noticeable.
The Intome Clitoral Arousal Gel is a nice gel that provides you with a mild tingling effect. It might help you to get that extra aroused feeling and it will reduce friction.
If you are more into ‘evident’ stimulation, this might not be the gel you are looking for.
The pros of Intome Clitoral Arousal Gel:
- Easy to apply
- Gives a mild sensation
- Reduces friction and thereby irritation
- The gel is not hypoallergenic and contains some ingredients that could cause irritation of the skin. Always test this product before use on a different art of the skin (e.g. your arm).
