In fact, everyone should have a mini-wand vibrator, regardless of your gender; They are nice and small and handy, yet often extremely powerful.
What is the Cala Azul Maria?
Cala Azul is a new brand from the company EQOM (which also includes EasyToys, among others). And that it is new is evident when you try to find the brand with Google. You will find all sorts of things, but not the brand’s official webpage (which does exist: www.cala-azul.eu). Goota work on your SEO, guys!
The brand has taken inspiration from the holiday island of Ibiza. Because (and I quote) ‘When you are on the island of Ibiza, you can leave all your worries behind and be a brand new version of yourself. In complete balance with your sexuality and most intimate wants and needs. […] Being happy with who you are, taking time to relax and creating that much-needed me-time.‘ Now I’ve unfortunately never been to Ibiza, but this is promising!
Cala Azul’s range consists of eight different vibrators, including a rabbit, as well as a vibrating butt plug, a couple vibrator and a vibrating penis ring. All toys have a distinctive blue (azul) colour and white detail.
The Cal Azul Maria is the wand-vibrator of the family, or rather, the mini wand-vibrator with a flexible head. This mini wand-vibrator is intended for external use, for example to stimulate the clitoris or the frenulum of the penis. But hey, use your imagination…

Unboxing
The Cal Azul Maria comes in a fresh cardboard tube with a picture of the wand vibrator and some brief text. The tube is also handy for storing the toy. Because – as it turns out – if you remove the cap, the Maria ‘stands’ in the cap, so to speak. The charging cord is also hidden in that cap, by the way.
There is no manual, but there is one on the website. And yes, call me a sourpuss, but that website and the information on the packaging … there are some shortcomings. For instance, the label on the bottom of the cap says that the product contains the Maria Rabbit Vibrator (while there really is a wand vibrator in the box and the rabbit is called Martina). The website is also riddled with errors. For instance, there is an explanation about the buttons, but the button to change vibration modes is accompanied by an explanation about charging with a magnetic cable. And the Maria does not work with a magnetic charging cable at all.
Rookie mistakes? I’m sure, but it doesn’t inspire much confidence if your designers don’t have an eye for detail!
The test drive
All these little irritations about the product information disappeared like snow in the sun when I held the product and turned it on. My goodness! What a fine thing the Cala Azul Maria Wand vibrator is!
It starts with the material. The silicone feels wonderfully soft and attracts little dust.
Furthermore, the three buttons are easy to operate. With the bottom button, you turn on the Maria. It then immediately starts vibrating in the softest continuous setting. With the top button, you can increase the vibration strength. If you press it again when it is in the highest setting, you go back to the lowest setting. The middle button lets you scroll through the 10 different patterns (one of which vibrates continuously). In each mode, you can change the speed. Personally, I find this way of operation easy, but not always convenient. If you quickly want to go back to a lower vibration setting (and believe me, you want that! But more on that later), you still have to go to even faster settings before you can go back to the lowest setting. By the way, when you turn the Maria on a next time, it starts at the setting you turned it off in the last time. Convenient? Mêh …
But about those vibrations: The somewhat lower vibration frequencies are really very deep and quite loud. The highest 2 or 3 modes are a bit sharper and snappier – if you know what I mean. And to get back to the lower modes, you really have to go past that. The vibrations also resonate quite a bit in the handle. This is not incomprehensible, with these strong vibrations, and not very annoying either.
The head of the Cala Azul Maria is slightly bendable. As far as I’m concerned, it shouldn’t have been, because even without a bendable head, this vibrator does an excellent job. By the way, the noise level of this wand vibrator is quite low, which is always nice!
I recommend using some water-based lubricant. That makes it just a little more comfortable to use and water-based lubricant does not affect the silicone of this toy in any case.
Cleaning
Because The Cala Azul Maria is fully waterproof, you can easily clean it under the tap. Do that especially before the first time and after every time you have used it. Afterwards, dry it with a cloth and you can store it back in its case.
The PROS of the Cala Azul Maria Wand Vibrator:
- Body-safe silicone that is very soft to the touch and attracts little dust
- Cheerful design
- Simple operation
- Very powerful vibrations

The CONS:
- The toy itself is totally fine, but the information on the packaging and website contains sloppy errors.
- The manual is not included, but is only on the website (if you can find it)
