Every fiber in my body screams “OMG NOOO” and “Ahw, how sweet” at the same time, when I see this vibrator disguised as a rubber duck. But since you have to try everything once (everything? Well, OK, almost everything), I accepted the offer of EasyToys to write an honest review of this adorable little duck.
What is an ‘I Rub My Duckie 2.0’?
After the invention of rubber, one of the first products that was ever made of this material was a rubber duck. The first ones couldn’t float and were meant as a chewing toy for babies that started to groo teeth. In the 1940s it got is current shape and since then, billions have been sold. They are even placed in musea and lots of people collect them. According to the Guinness Book of Records, a woman from Seattle owns no less than 2,539.
The company Big Teaze Toys decided in 1999 to create a vibrating version of it. And I get that. Duckies are funny and adorable, people all oer the world collect them … and one of the most favorite places to masturbate is the bathroom.
Big Teaze Toys made several vibrating rubber duckies ever since. They have classical yellow ducks, a Paris Collection (with a feather stole), a bondage series (with gag) and even duckies dressed up as pirate or kitten.
The big problem with its first generation (besides the fact that it is a rubber duck, which is an issue on its own if you ask me) was that it was too loud and the vibrations were hardly noticeable. Welcome version 2.0. Because that is supposed to be much more quiet and powerfull, according to Big Teaze Toys.
Specs & functions
Of course the I Rub My Duckie is fully waterproof. Just imagine. Further more this particular one has just 1 setting (the classic version has 3). You just switch it on or off with a button on the bottom.
Well, that’s about it. Oh, and it has a cute design, that makes it blend in with all the other ducks on the side of your bath. That too.
Unboxing
The I Rub My Duckie comes in a transparent box with a glitter back. I must say that the first thing that came to mind was ‘why don’t I leave it in there and give it as a gift to someone who has her birthday shortly’. Because that’s just it. This is a nice gift for someone that is getting married, for someone who just turned 18 (or 65), for someone who collects rubber ducks, or for someone who just renovated the bathroom.
When you take the duck from the package, you better open the bottom of the box. The duck is screwed to the bottom. Then you have to use a coin to open the battery compartment. When you look very carefully, you will notice that the + goes up. And when you really read carefully between the lines, you will notice that I have cursed a lot while unpacking.
Oh, and it takes 1 AAA battery, that is not included.
The ‘test drive’
Well, about the test drive … It didn’t come that far, unfortunately. I had never tested the first generation, but if this motor is supposed to be more powerful than the first, I wonder what kind of minimal vibrations that could have been?
You see, the thing is: it vibrates, but it just isn’t hot. The I Rub My Duckie is just a really funny gadget, but I can’t take it serious as a sex toy. A rubber duck is a kids toy! You just don’t masturbate with that as a grown man/woman. Period!
And so I decided to put the duck back in the box, because my sister in law is turning 50 shortly and I didn’t had a gift just yet.
Conclusion
The I Rub My Duckie is a great, sweet, funny and adorable gift to give, and probably to get too. After that, it’s going to wind up at the edge of the bath to never be used. Because a) the vibrations aren’t powerful enough, b) it isn’t an ergonomic design, c) it is shaped like a kids toy.
