2018 was an eventful year with loads of highlights. And because it is the end of the year, this is a nice moment to look back at (again) a year full of blogging.
In 2018 we published a total of 375 blogberichten, of which 142 were in English. The different posts have been written by Marc van Lier, Eva (1), Jennifer (8), Rianne (8), Roos (1) and Phoebe (5). In addition, 9 articles have been written by guest bloggers.
In total, a number of 350.00 unique visitors looked at our site and together they watched a little under 900.000 pages. This is – again – a little less than last year. In 2018 our posts on squirting (58.911 views), making your own sextoys (20.780 views) and prostate massages (18.992 views) have been most popular.
2018 was a year full of erotic stories, science, photos, videos, tips, reviews and news. This was also the first year since we started in 2005, that we translated almost all of our blogs into English. Here is just a sampling of what we’ve published in the last year:
Womanizer launched the ‘inside out’ and Satisfyer their Traveler. Marc van Lier started as jury member of the ‘Smut Marathon’, a writing competition for erotic stories. Also we published the results of our research into oral sex, that showed that men and women don’t think alike about the subject.
In March 2018 we gave several tips for writers of blogs and erotic stories. Again the G-spot appeared to be a complete mystery for science.
In April the first case of resistant gonorrhea was discovered in the UK. The Tenga Flex received the ‘red dot award’, we gave you tips on how to store sex toys, and we gave a complete overview of all brothels in the world that exploit sex dolls.
May is international masturbation month, so most of our content was about that theme. We published reviews of lube, a glass butt plug, and the Pocket Rocket. Also you could read the results of our research into sex positions, that showed that doggy style is by far the most popular position.
We also conducted thorough research into the facts about water based lube.
But the best thing was that we were granted to test the world’s best vibrator: the LELO Elise 2. At least, that’s our opinion.
In October we tested a Tenga Egg, the Tenga Air Tech and the Kiiroo Teledildonics set! Teledildonics might just be the future of sex toys, but it wasn’t quit perfect yet. Also, we explained all about the raphe, an unknown erogenous zone. And we described the 9 levels of submission.
In November we did some major maintenance on NBRplaza.com. We decided to put our weblog and webshop on to SSL. It is a bit of a technical story, but it comes down to that we made our website a whole lot safer for our visitors. And because we believe in the importance of it, we put our findings in a blog post, so other bloggers can learn how we did it.
The moment I wrote this retrospect, we are halfway December. Tumblr announced to ban all porn and many bloggers regret the growing censorship on the internet. Furthermore, we described the Coital Alignment Technique, that increases the chance for women to have an orgasm.
